Autism Speaks

Q. My child was evaluated by his school team and found eligible for special education services to address his characteristics of autism.  Do I also need him to receive a medical diagnosis?

 A. A school evaluation does NOT provide a diagnosis of autism.  It only determines that your child is eligible for special education services.  For information about receiving a medical diagnosis, click on the link below:
